Campaign Autopilot
Set it and (mostly) forget it. Let AI manage your campaigns with customizable guardrails.
What if your campaigns could optimize themselves while you sleep?
That's what Autopilot does. It monitors performance 24/7 and takes action based on your rules and AI recommendations.
The best part? You stay in control. Every action follows your guardrails, and you can require approval before anything changes.
What is Autopilot?
Autopilot is an intelligent automation layer that sits on top of your campaigns. It:
- Monitors campaign performance continuously
- Analyzes data using AI learning insights
- Decides what action to take (if any)
- Executes the action (or waits for your approval)
- Learns from the results
Think of it as a smart assistant who knows your rules and never misses a signal.
Autopilot vs. Manual Management
| Aspect | Manual | Autopilot |
|---|---|---|
| Check frequency | Weekly (if you remember) | Every hour |
| Response time | Days to catch issues | Minutes |
| Data considered | What fits in your head | 30 days of history |
| Bias | Subject to emotions | Pure data |
| Scale | You can manage 5-10 campaigns | Unlimited |
How It Makes Decisions
The Autopilot follows a logical decision tree. Here's what happens every hour:
****` START: Campaign Check ā Is autopilot enabled for this campaign? ā [No] ā Skip [Yes] ā
Gather Data āāā Last 7 days performance āāā AI learning insights āāā Current budget & ROAS āāā Funnel metrics ā
AI Analysis "Given this data, what action (if any) should we take?" ā
output[No Action Needed] ā Log & Exit [Action Recommended] ā
Check Guardrails āāā Does action exceed maxBudgetChangePercent? āāā Is there enough data (sample size)? āāā Is action type allowed? ā
output[Guardrail Blocked] ā Log reason & Exit [Allowed] ā
Approval Required? ā [Yes] ā Create pending action ā Notify you [No] ā Execute immediately ā Log result ****`
Configuration Options
You control how aggressive (or conservative) Autopilot behaves. Access these in Autopilot ā Configuration.
Core Settings
| Setting | Default | Range | What It Controls |
|---|---|---|---|
| Max Budget Increase | 20% | 5-50% | Maximum daily budget increase per day |
| Max Bid Increase | 20% | 5-50% | Maximum bid increase per auction |
| Min ROAS Threshold | 2.0x | 0.5-5x | Stop spending if ROAS drops below this |
Automation Toggles
| Toggle | Default | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| Budget Adjustments | On | Allow AI to increase/decrease daily budgets |
| Bid Adjustments | On | Allow dynamic bid optimization per auction |
| Creative Rotation | Off | Automatically pause low performing creatives |
Dashboard Metrics
When Autopilot is running, you will see real-time stats:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Active Status | Running or Paused - shows if Autopilot is actively managing |
| Actions Taken (24h) | Number of optimizations applied in the last day |
| Managed Campaigns | How many campaigns have Autopilot enabled |
| Recent Activity | Live feed of AI actions with timestamps |
Example Configurations
Conservative (Recommended for beginners): ****
javascript { maxBudgetIncreasePercent: 10, maxBidIncreasePercent: 10, minRoasThreshold: 2.5, enableBudgetAdjustments: true, enableBidAdjustments: false, enableCreativeRotation: false } ****Balanced (For experienced users): ****
javascript { maxBudgetIncreasePercent: 20, maxBidIncreasePercent: 20, minRoasThreshold: 2.0, enableBudgetAdjustments: true, enableBidAdjustments: true, enableCreativeRotation: false } ****Aggressive (Full automation): ****
javascript { maxBudgetIncreasePercent: 30, maxBidIncreasePercent: 30, minRoasThreshold: 1.5, enableBudgetAdjustments: true, enableBidAdjustments: true, enableCreativeRotation: true } ****Actions It Can Take
Autopilot can execute these actions:
| Action | What It Does | Auto-Executable? |
|---|---|---|
| Pause Campaign | Stops ad delivery | Yes |
| Activate Campaign | Resumes paused campaign | Yes |
| Increase Budget | Raises daily budget by X% | Yes |
| Decrease Budget | Lowers daily budget by X% | Yes |
| Adjust Targeting | Recommends audience changes | No (suggestion only) |
| Refresh Creative | Recommends new creative | No (suggestion only) |
Action Lifecycle

- Timestamp
- Reasoning
- Data at decision time
- Outcome
Built-in Safety Features
We've built in multiple safeguards so Autopilot can't wreck your campaigns:
1. Smart Pause Prevention
The problem: A campaign has low ROAS, but it's also driving cart abandonment that converts via retargeting.
What dumb automation does: Pause it immediately.
What our AI does: Check the funnel. If cart abandonment is high but checkout conversion is normal, the issue is probably payment/shipping, not the campaign. Recommend investigating instead of pausing.
2. Learning-Enhanced Scaling
The problem: A campaign has 5x ROAS. Naive automation would increase budget 50% tomorrow.
What could go wrong: Audience exhaustion, bid spikes, performance drop.
What we do: Look at historical patterns. If similar campaigns showed performance degradation above 25% increases, cap the recommendation there.
| Signal | Impact on Scaling |
|---|---|
| Long conversion window (7+ days) | Scale more conservatively |
| High-value segments identified | Scale more aggressively to reach them |
| Audience saturation signals | Cap scaling at 10% |
| Consistent 14+ day performance | Allow up to maxBudgetChangePercent |
3. Minimum Data Requirements
We won't act on insufficient data:
| Action Type | Minimum Requirement |
|---|---|
| Pause campaign | 7+ days, 20+ clicks |
| Increase budget | 7+ days, 10+ conversions |
| Major change | 14+ days, 50+ conversions |
Approval Workflow
When requireApproval: true, here's what happens:
Pending Actions Queue
Actions wait for your review in AI ā Pending Actions:
| Campaign | Action | Reasoning | Expected Impact | Actions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Summer Sale | +20% budget | ROAS 4.2x for 14 days | +15-25% conversions | [Approve] [Reject] |
| Winter Promo | Pause | ROAS 0.8x, 21 days | Save $150/day | [Approve] [Reject] |
Taking Action
To approve: Click "Approve" and the action executes immediately.
To reject: Click "Reject" and optionally add a note. The AI learns from rejections.
To modify: Some actions let you adjust before approving (e.g., change +20% to +15%).
Notifications
Configure how you're notified about pending actions:
| Channel | Options |
|---|---|
| Instant, daily digest, or off | |
| Slack | Real-time notifications |
| SMS | High-priority actions only |
Enabling Autopilot
Quick Start from Dashboard
- Go to Autopilot in the main navigation
- Use the Active/Paused toggle in the top-right to enable globally
- Configure your settings in the Configuration panel
- Click Save Configuration
Enable for All Active Campaigns
Use the Enable All Active button to instantly enable Autopilot for every active campaign:
- Click Enable All Active in the Autopilot header
- Confirm the action in the popup
- All active campaigns will use your default settings
For a Single Campaign
- Go to the campaign's Settings tab
- Toggle Autopilot to On
- The campaign will use your global Autopilot settings
Safety Guardrails
The system has built-in safety limits:
| Guardrail | Description |
|---|---|
| 20% daily limit | Spend never exceeds 20% of original budget without approval |
| ROAS monitoring | Campaigns with ROAS below 1.0 are flagged for review |
| Pending Actions | Major changes require manual approval |
Tip: Start with one campaign to get comfortable with how Autopilot behaves before clicking "Enable All Active".
